Learn:
Earned my master's degree in special education. Supported students with learning disabilities from kindergarten to college for more than two decades.
Work:
Helped students with writing assignments
when I was a writing coach at a community college.
(Yep, college students write tons of papers
for practically every subject, not just for English.
So, keep up with your grammar and writing homework!)
Eat:
Could yum down pizza and salad, with ice cream for dessert, at every meal.
Read:
Started reading books before beginning school.
My all-time fave books children's books: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Hunger Games, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Witch of Blackbird Pond, Sherlock Holmes, all Dr. Seuss, and too many others for this short list.
Exercise:
Walk a mile or two every day, Along the beach or woodland trail is THE best.
Practice yoga, hit the gym, and swim laps, too.
Nephew Randy gets a kick from watching me hula-hooping.
Snap:
Love photography with a smart phone or camera.
This passion could be in my genes since both my great- and great-great grandfathers were photographers in the early 1900s.
Dig:
Get my hands dirty creating, pocket-sized gardens full of color and art
for our North Carolina home.
Sing:
No, never a rock star singer.
But I've sung in choral groups since third grade.
Alto 1.
I'm a petite 5-feet, 2-inches,
so you'll find me
tra-la'ing in the front row.
